About Me

Hello! My name is Kathryn Fox and I’m a person-centred psychotherapist.

That means that my style of counselling is to keep your wants and needs at the centre of all of our sessions together – we will work as a team, and work together to get you where you want to be in life.

As both a practicing therapist and as someone who has healed and grown in therapy myself, I know how it feels to be in both chairs in the therapy office. I have experience of many of life’s issues and have helped my clients through many more and, as such, I am ready to tackle any issues with you. It’s also important to me that I provide you with compassionate and authentic counselling at affordable rates.

If you are looking for somewhere to create meaning in your life, you are feeling lost or hopeless, or you are seeking emotional support, please get in touch at kathrynatfoxtherapy@gmail.com

My Credentials

I achieved a BSc in Psychology in 2011, passing with a 2:1.

I then passed my MSc in Person-Centred and Experiential Psychotherapy in 2018 at Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute.

I am UKCP registered with full accreditation. I am also a fully registered member of BACP. I follow their ethical guidelines as a practitioner.

I am Psychology Today verified.

My Experience

As a psychotherapist I have volunteered hundreds of hours since 2011 with various counselling charities, including the National Self-Harm Network, Derby Counselling Centre, Derby Women’s Centre, and Hull and East Riding Survivors.

I have been working in private practice in Hartlepool since early 2019.

I have worked in various mental health jobs, in the NHS and in private services, since 2007.

My Interests

As a therapist, I’m particularly interested in helping the LGBTQ+ community, one person at a time.

I am also an author and activist (under a pen name), with an interest in baking, knitting, reading, and punk music. I use they/them/their pronouns.
